G'day all, mother nature did my modem in a few days back, so
had a bit 'o mail to catch up on. John H, I sure envy the ride to
Valdez area....but I'd pass on the forbidding northern swamps.
Last thurs the FAA man came and did my airworthiness inspection.
The good part is it passed ok, with the usual little stuff to clear up
for his return tomorrow. Just as the folks at DMV are much nicer
these days, he also was a very decent fellow. At his suggestion
I created a limit stop for the ailerons to prevent that extreme
point where the right side control hits the flap rod.
The only hitch was I had to come up with a test area other than
my own strip because of the proximity of ROC airport.
-Found a great grass strip with hangars, and runway lights for
$50/month , and it's a whole lot smoother than mine.
Now maybe if they publish that SP rule I can maintain my cheapskate
ways and skip the flight physical. -Wonder if the biennial thing
will still be in there? -BB , legal plane, illegal pilot. do not archive
