Hi John, the signal is getting as far a the UK. Actually flew the Challenger today. First flight since November. Disgraceful. First decent day and just managed to get the old girl out, checked and into the air for about 15 minutes before the sunset. That is the legal cutoff point here. Screen all misted with condensation by the time I put her away. Hooray! Summer must be coming. I see that temperatures are creeping up in Florida too. Must pack my short and stetson. Yeehah! Anybody got a reason why I "shouldn't" buy it ? Gotta Fly... Mike in MN -------------------------- mike the ak450 is what i have in my mk III....... i like thew fact that you can use d size batteries...... never needed it but it seems to test ok....... when it arrives the cable to the remote activation keypad was too long..... but if you can find someone who can put on a phone cord end..... you can shorten it to what you need. just make sure that you get the same color wires in the correct order. one end is different than the way the put the colors in on phone cords. boyd ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 04:41:39 PM PST US From: Mike Pierzina Subject: Kolb-List: 450 Ameri-King/ELT --> Kolb-List message posted by: Mike Pierzina Hey Guys, Thanks for the imput , on and off the list.....everybody that I heard from only had GOOD things to say about it.... I'm gonna order mine from Aircraft Spruce on Monday.... I did see it cheaper in "Wag-Aero" ($179.95) but I have some other things that I need from Aircraft Spruce and also they OWE me $20 bucks because when I bought the seat belt assembly for the back seat....the shoulder straps were missing the little "release straps" that loosen them.....so they gave me a discount and I made them myself. I'll mount the ELT in the nose of my Firestar II , and get rid of some of the "dead weight" that I've had to put up there... Do Not Archive Gotta Fly... Probably want it to survive the crash so it transmit on "guard" until you are found. 2. Also want the antenna to survive. Radio won't transmit without the antenna. Nose may not be the best place to mount ELT. Take care, john h ________________________________ Message 6 _____________________________________ Time: 07:32:17 PM PST US From: Bob Noyer Subject: Re: Kolb-List: 450 Ameri-King/ELT --> Kolb-List message posted by: Bob Noyer > > >I have installed more than a dozen ELTs in GA (Well, you gotta do what you gotta do) and all were in behind the pax compartment, as behind bag area bulkhead in Cessnas.
