Your engine mount looks and sounds like a VERY good idea. My cousins are visiting from Vancouver, B.C. right now, and they've been giving me hell for letting Vamoose sit for so long, and finally booted me into some action over the last few days. Now, I have to order new fuel pumps and filters, cause the old ones are gummed up by stale fuel. I'll order them tomorrow, and they'll be waiting for me when I return from the Mexico fishing trip I'm leaving for on Wed. I'll install them next weekend, and have that thing running and fly-able by MV ! ! ! Won't be fly-ing, but............... Lar. Do not Archive. Subject: Re: Kolb-List: FSII vortex generators --> Kolb-List message posted by: "Bob N." Jack, Good to see you made it to (the other) Winchester. Bob N. do not archive Bob, Bought a 96 Ford E150 with 365k miles on it. Drove it a little over 10k with 11 loads to get just about everything up here. I believe I have it sold to one of the house builders for a tool van for what I paid for it. I had to fix a few things but it was/is a strong runner. I am cleaning up around the house and getting it ready for my wife to come from Missouri at the end of May. The FireFly is still at K02. When I get things under control here, I will watch the weather and when things look good go down and retrieve it. Saving all the extra dirt for the runway. Jack B. As I remarked to you when you were here, the pictures you posted of your custom fabricated mount had some of the prettiest welding I have ever seen... when you get a chance, how about taking some more shots of the finished product, so we can all see how the new engine and drive look fitted on the machine... Congrats again... Duane, I know exactly what you are talking about. Every once in awhile I will encounter rough air that is absoultely vicious, once above the tree tops. I don't think it is just the wind, but rather a combination of wind and thermals. Just the other day I took off and from tree top level all the way up to 2000 feet it was very, very bumpy. I didn't stay up there very long because it was just plain too uncomfortable, for me. Yet, when I returned to mother earth and got out of the plane, it was as calm as could be. You'd have thought it was a great day for flying. Mother natures fickle air! Dave, Congratuations on reaching 16,000 feet. Just wondering, during the climb, was the air Rough or Smooth? Or did it vary at different altitudes?
