Dan and others,
I would recommend draining the tank completely when switching over from mineral
to synthetic oil. Some of the oil manufacturers say they are compatible, but
if it isn't then you become the test subject.
Klotz synthetic keeps my engine carbon free, just like a model airplane 2-stroke.
That's the way it should be!

Hi Ralph, How long have you been using Klotz? Is there a problem with a
little gas left over with Pennzoil in the tank if I try that brand. I'll
never get my tank completely empty. Do not archive

using mineral oil like Pennzoil. I change them annually and when I take them
out, they look good enough to go another year. The rim of the plug is black
and this is normal no matter what type of oil is used.

Could
it be that it doesn't allow the two tanks to crossfeed, >>
Hi,
Oh yes it does. Just connect the two tanks together taking care to block the
breather hole which may be integral in one of the tanks. In effect you are
crating one tank. One inlet and one outlet.
One of our ingenious listers has it in the archive somewhere. A very neat
set up.
I wouldn`t have any holes in my tanks anywhere but at the top. Asking for
trouble in the long run.

Thanx for the info. I figured as much. I tried some Pennzoil
synthetic @ 75:1 & the engine ran fine & the temps were great but
after 2 tanks the plugs were gray. Think I'll try the Klotz.

Very good flight story. I enjoyed reading it. Keep'em coming.
