The Seaplane subject got me going. We have a place about 50 yds from a
sheltered cove on Lake Lanier. Has anyone ever heard of floats on a US? Someone
said that the prop might get hit by spray from the floats, not good. Any
way to deflect the spray from reaching the prop? What are the regs. for
operation on a Corps of Engineers lake?
Enough questions. Glad you guys are out there. Brian
Brian, This is the only form of Lanier in the Seaplane Directory. Does not
look Good.

Can someone please tell me the size of the Mk II gear legs, are they 1 1/4"
or 1 3/8"? I'm switching from the original sleeved gear to the solid
aluminum. Travis thinks they are 1 1/4" but I can't tell without taking my
out first.

The Delaware Kolb has had a heavy left wing since birth (no surprise here).
Tried to adjust it out to no avail. Yesterday I installed a trim tab per the
factory drawings (14 "wide) on the right flaperon and test flew today. What a
difference! I've done no trimming to the tab and it is almost perfect. Much
more relaxed flying and better response. Will do the elevator next as it
still pitches up a bit at high power settings.
Flying this evening I was getting a 1000' rate of climb with 5800 rpm and 55
mph indicated. Not too shabby for a 582 huh? That was with 10 gal and 160 LB
pilot.

welcome to the trim tab (TT?) club. Got one myself.
-But I got thinking recently about the possibility of tailfeather
twist having an effect. Why couldn't a little correction in the
horizontal stabilizers help correct a heavy wing?
Next year I may investigate.

Hey Bob,
The AK-450 "does" come with batteries...and they don't look "special"
....that 1300 number looks "common"
I don't know why they insist on Duracell.....But , I'll stick with it..........There's
also a "little" battery in the
dash mounted remote switch box.........
I have some pictures of where I mounted mine.....I still have to mount the
"remote" in the cockpit....I'm thinking
about running a "consol" bettween my legs.....from the floor ( over rudder cables
) to the panel.
That way I'll have a place to mount my GPS too...
Here's the ELT pictures :

Apparently I've violated some secret elevator trim handshake and have left at
least one person offended. While I knew not to ask the dreaded Seafoam
question I had no idea asking a simple question could be so offensive. I've been
lurking here a while now, finally bought a kit and figured I could ask a question
or two. Guess I was wrong. I'll have to trade up to a Fergie I guess [see, I
know I wasn't supposed to say that]! Ya'll take care, I'm going back to silent
mode.

Please share more information on the trim system. Was it posted on the
Kolb
list? Are there any pictures posted? I wasn't able to find anything
more in the
archives but I'm not the best at searching either. Thank you!

Hey, Scott, don't let one comment put you off. I dredged back thru the
deleted items to the only post I can see from you, and personally don't see
anything offensive about it. We're generally a pretty easy going group -
especially Mike, tho' he must've been having a bad hair day that day - and
we'd like to see you continue to contribute, and enjoy building your kit.
We'd also like to here about your progress with it. Hang in there, it ain't
all bad.........and besides.........you've already learned about Seafoam.
:-) Lar. Do not Archive.
P.S. I can't find my butt with both hands in the archives, either.
