There are places where your to far from the telephone company's CO to get DSL. Besides some people have to compromise between their expenditures, $30-$60 a month for high speed links or a tank of gas for the plane. Also some people have to travel whether personal or business and while on the road they like to stay in touch with the group list. That usually implies dial up. Also with dial up while most mail clients can screen restrict downloading files by size, the messages still remain on the server until deleted which develops another problem, they fill and over flow your mail box. While I was working over seas I used to enjoy getting on the list and reading messages. Would it not be better for people to learn to create there own web page for photos and have a link to their web site. Most ISP give you an amount of space for use for by the subscriber for web pages. jerb At 12:58 PM 6/9/2006, you wrote: Are you the last two guys on the planet with dial up? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> No...... I use dial up and very seldom down load pictures because of the time it takes. and what I can afford,,,,,,,,,, and what I am willing to pay,,,,,,,,,,, r 2 different things. I am sure johns pictures are great. but I can go to 7, 8 ,10 , 12 thousand feet and see it all in person anytime of year. I have been told to take pictures and post them. but I usually just go fly. --> Kolb-List message posted by: "Larry Bourne" <biglar@gogittum.com> Thank you, CB. It's a great process......I enjoy the trips, obviously, and the challenge of framing and taking each shot. I believe a photographer sees more, and in a different way while "working." I enjoy going thru the pics each day, enjoy selecting and editing them, enjoy the web page building process, which takes me back thru the trip in great detail, remembering each portion of the day, and, finally, I REally enjoy comments like yours from people who have shared and enjoyed my work. tnx again, big guy... i toured your new website. very nice and well organized. ur pics per usual were just great. u & the other photographers with kolbs make it look so easy. but what was especially nice were the pithy and with ur usual wry wit, most entertaining commentaries. it really helps me to understand what i'm seeing. john hauck often does that with his travel reports. what a difference it makes to grasp the significance of the subject. when john was parked there in the far northern reaches of ak on or near the spot that wiley and his famous psngr went down, his brief but informative description made it come alive for me. tnx to all u kolbers who not only have the flyin skills, but the ability to share it so dramatically with the rest of us. cant tell if i'd ever even consider all the effort needed to put one of these things together & then the grit to actually go aloft in it without the inspiration from u folks. again, lar, great job. cant wait til u have vamoose as a platform. the reports will be sensational. loved "da whales".... john bowman , in baton rouge, la. do not archive

--> Kolb-List message posted by: Richard Pike <richard@bcchapel.org> I have never been to crazy about spraying epoxy, it is pretty toxic. However, you can brush it on and it is very easy to sand. I have brushed epoxy on several fuselages and then gone over it with some 220 sandpaper with good results. Since you will want to sand it a bit anyway to make the Poly Tak stick well, why not? Poly Tak sticks to sanded epoxy real well, with no adverse effects. If there is something of dissimilar metals so you think you need zinc chromate between the metals, do it, and then put epoxy over the zinc chromate, and then the Poly Tak. It will last longer than you will.
