My plane just drops out of the sky when it stalls and there is no real waring besides the airspeed indicator. Has anyone ever thought about just installing the VG's on the out sides of the wing to get a progressive stall starting on the insides of the wings? --> Kolb-List message posted by: "Richard Pike" <richard@bcchapel.org> What you want is how my MKIII does it, except it also stalls slower, and flys better just above the stall. Details here. http://www.bcchapel.org/pages/0003/Vortex%20Generators.html and here http://www.bcchapel.org/pages/0003/FSII%20Vortex%20Generators.html And there is not a buffet, instead it goes from feeling solid and connected (normal flight) to just before the stall it is feeling very vague and sort of like it isn't paying attention any more. Sort of like driving a curvy road in a car with normal tire pressure and then going to tires that only have 6 or 8 pounds of air in them. Hard to miss. One clear indication for me of a pending stall with my VGs and flaps is the stick being pushed hard against my belly button.

You can of course order them, I believe that if I were going to spend money on some I would try the "feather"? ones made by the Aussie company. However if you want to try some first there is this method. I used a 2x4 a piece of scrap polycarb. Larry, Oregon

I have been taking pictures on my camera-phone for a few months now and decided to post a few selected to the group. Note that the technical quality of the picture is quite low but it does not always makes for a bad image ... I found that the digital zoom can give a nice "impressionist" look to some pictures. As you will see i am mostly interrested by details, colors and textures. --> Kolb-List message posted by: "Richard & Martha Neilsen" <NeilsenRM@comcast.net> My first post recorded to archive was Jan 97 but it seems like the archive was just added as a new feature. Also the Kolb list was hosted by someone else for at least a year before Matronics took over hosting the list. If my memory serves me correctly Matt at Matronics started Hosting the Kolb list sometime in 96 and I started as a member in 1995 or late 94. Dennis Souder referred me to the list at that time. It probably greatly reduced his work load due to all my E-mail questions. Its been great E-Mailing everyone over the years. It is surprising how many people have come to and left the list. I remember welcoming John H to the list and thanking him for the demo flight, for the original Kolb, that he gave me a few years earlier at Sun N Fun. It was that ride that hooked me big time on these great airplanes.
