Hi Kolbers,
Got a call from my power company today.
Said it would be no problem to put the orange balls on my power line but
the cost would be $250 per ball. :-(

Guys,
A few of you asked for pics of my trailer jack set up. Sent them
and it looks like they appeared on the list, but I did get a message
saying they were refused or something like that (don't remember
exactly). Sent them yesterday and no one has commented. Now I don't
need a lot of praise and stuff like that but it seems to me unusual that
there are no comments and I wonder if the pics got there. Also, is it
me or is it quiet out there.
I have stuck with "the old way" of the list and am happy with that
and I wonder if maybe the pictures printed on the "old" version of the
list but not the new.
????????

Dave --
I too use the "old fashioned" email-only method of accessing the list, and
the pictures came across just fine!

Subject: Kolb-List: Trailer Jack
Guys,
A number of you asked if I would send pics of my jack set up.
Here they are. As mentioned, I cut off the Jack Handle and welded on a
long 5/8" nut - the kind that comes with a turnbuckle I think. I also
welded a 5/8" socket to the shortened jack handle to be used when/if the
battery in my 18v cordless drill gives out. Now the aforementioned
drill with a 5/8" socket gives me an electric jack. I got the jack at a
trailer place that has a lot of heavy duty trailers. It's called a
"Bulldog." I'll go through the pictures for you.
1. Trailer with jack retracted - travel position
2. Jack telescoped downward (Eliminates the need for a stack of
4x4's)
3. 18v Cordless drill with 5/8" socket
4. Jack almost fully extended
5. Notice wing clearance and angle of the door relative to the
floor
This system works great. I've probably used it around 75 to 100
times and am very happy with it. In fact, as soon as I send this out
I'm gonna use it again to get my MK III Classic out and pull a gear leg
to straighten it. DON'T ASK!
Hope this helps.
AzDave

I have not received a single Kolb list email now the past few days. Is there a
problem with the server or the old mail list? I have seen a few posts to the forum,
but still use the old list mostly.
Thanks,

Mike:
You have to write someone to get mail. ;-)
Weather has been too cold down here in Alabama to do much writing.
Take care,

Mike, functioning normally here too. Last subject matter was fuel
lines, which
has been exhaustively covered in the distant past. To add my $.02
worth,
I am using the automotive rubber stuff which does seem to cast off a
fine
residue downstream and after aging a bit starts to lose some
flexibility.
I would think that after 5 years it should be changed out for new.
