It's no fun, but you do what you have to do. >From the pictures I've seen, you built one pretty Mk 3, it's a shame to see you send it on without having had the pleasure of flying your handiwork. If you don't mind a couple of suggestions. Flying aircraft sell for more than projects. Why not sell the VW engine, get a good used 503 and finish Vamoose? It might not be you're ideal aircraft that way, but it'll fly and I can tell you from experience that nothing will put a smile on your face faster than getting back in the air in your own wings. If you do have to store her, check the local airports for half hangars. There's one on each end of a row of tee hangars and they generally rent pretty cheap. In Puget Sound, where the average wait time for a hangar is in excess of two years, I got a half hangar at Paine Field in four months. My friend Mike walked into the airport office on the right day and walked out with the keys to the half hangar kitty corner from me. Give it a try, you'll still get to hang out at the airport, and if things change for you, you're in the right place to fly Vamoose. Good Luck, Rick On 10/27/06, Larry Bourne wrote: > > You too ?? Ditto... That's how I know... Larry... When I moved to Spokane back in the middle '70s, I had my Republic Seabee on a trailer and couldn't find inexpensive inside storage close to town... Through a friend, I found out about very inexpensive storage at a grain elevator building about 30 miles South of Spokane... I kept it there until I bought my property on the lake and brought it home... Point being, don't overlook out of the way, off the beaten path, places that could be utilized as storage... That way you can bring her home when you're ready and GET FLYING!... You can't sell the Vamoose, it would be like selling one of your family members .... is that legal ??
