Damn! but given the reasons you list, your decision seems to be a good one. How did your polarizer ever work out? You know how every airplane has tip vortices rolling off the wing tips as the high pressure air escapes from under the wing and around the tip? (Not a very good description, but you get the idea...) Without a gap seal, you now have four vortices per airplane, two at the tips, and two in the middle. Bad Idea. She just called me, to inquire as both my and my wife's health! Her hearing is very poor, and her hearing aid doesn't do well on the phone, but I got some of the particulars from her rehab aide. See: http://www.aflyer.com/OCTpdf/page19.pdf If you haven't heard of Ms Evelyn, well...she has more flying hours (including mostly instructing) than any living person..in '04 she had 57,567 hours, and more after, until she stopped instructing last year at 95. She has many prestigious awardsCheck Google/Mama Bird Those who know her might send her a card: Ms Evelyn Johnson, POB666, Jefferson City, TN 37760 regards, Bob N. It's a beautiful facility in a beautiful, historic city. It's all official now, and I'll be leaving here on Nov. 10 to start there, at "La Posada de Santa Fe" on Nov. 13. I'm looking forward to a whole new set of adventures, even if I do hafta move. Lar. Do not Archive. Actually, I have had and do have 2nd thoughts, and held off for a long time before making the decision to sell. I just dunno. If it sells before I go, well and good. If it doesn't, places like you suggest just don't exist here in Diamond Springs. I can store Vamoose in its' trailer in the storage yard at the back of the park here till I sell my home, then it's gotta go. Maybe feasible to take it to Santa Fe, but again, I dunno. Just hafta play it by ear. Commuting 800 miles each way for multiple trips isn't a desirable option, either. It's a good thing I threw that bogus redrive in the trash. Today, I was noodling around out on the porch, throwing stuff out, etc., and was giving thought to "maybe I shoulda just tried a new chain........." Don't go there, Lar. That way lies disaster. Good thing it's gone and outa reach. Never did find a viable redrive to replace that clunker with, either, and even gave a tiny thought to contacting the builder of the thing. Apparently there's a much improved version out now that Julian Warren bought several years ago. Nawwww.........he's already got too much of my money for that last one. Mixed Up Lar. Do not Archive. It's no fun, but you do what you have to do. From the pictures I've seen, you built one pretty Mk 3, it's a shame to see you send it on without having had the pleasure of flying your handiwork. If you don't mind a couple of suggestions. Flying aircraft sell for more than projects. Why not sell the VW engine, get a good used 503 and finish Vamoose? ALL; Had a great time at the Copperstate Fly-In today. Missed a couple of neat folks, tho. Sorry 'bout that. I did get a few pix of the more important planes there, so, I'll try to 'up' them to the list, for your approval. Both Tim and Craig were so friendly and inviting, that I had trouble letting them alone to talk to the folks that were interested in their awesome planes. These guys do some incredible work and the paint jobs (the handy-work of Tim, I hear) are superb. Would like to hear back from a member or two, if the pix get thru like I hoped. Thanks, George Bass ________________________________ Message 14 ____________________________________ Time: 10:28:08 PM PST US From: "George Bass" Subject: Re: Kolb-List: Copperstate fly-in (3 of Several) Part Three of just a couple more.
