I work shift work so I go a few days without reading e-mail. Appreciate the responses and suggestions. Sorry left out a few key facts. This plane does have the dual stick option. Several have suggested a jam on this system. Plane has a 912S with prop rotation CCW looking forward On the ground all controls move freely. Problem only shows up in straight and level cruise. This problem is much worse than the Kolb constant roll to the left that requires backpressure to the right. You literally can not move the stick to the right when S & L. And yes, I was scared. Scared that something was going to give before the stick moved. Gonna go through all the suggestions one by one and let you know what we find. By the by, my plane flies great. Can fly hands off now for extended periods. -------- Thanks too much, John Bickham Mark III-C "Using my Repairman Certificate" St. Francisville, LA Do Not Archive Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=114339#114339 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 05:04:34 AM PST US Subject: Kolb-List: NY State Trooper visit From: "Thom Riddle" I'm really enjoying the stories and photos from those who are reporting from MV or still enroute home. Great adventure. Yesterday, I flew the Allegro out to visit Bob Bean and see how his doors were coming on his Mk III. As I've done many many times, I landed on his airstrip (cow pasture w/o cows) that the NE end abuts and overlooks I-90. My approach from the NE was normal which put me fairly low over the interstate and I landed with no problems, as usual. Bob and his dog Jack were waiting for me so we walked back to his basement to see the Mk III. His doors are going to be a very nice flying season extender. Too bad you all can't see his workmanship up close because none of the photos do it justice. Anyway, when we walked back up to the cow-strip, a young NY State Trooper was inspecting the Allegro. Apparently, a trucker on the interstate thought I had crash landing or done an emergency landing and called the constables. After giving him IDs (he needed them for his report) and assuring him all was well I took off and headed home. Not an adventure by MV standards but sitll an unusual occurence, at least for me. Bob and I are looking forward to meeting as many of you as go to Homer's next month. A friend in his Rans and I in my Mark III had just landed at my home base, a small grass field in Concord, NC. We stopped for a few minutes and I took off again to do some landings and takeoff. I was on downwind and looked down at the strip and saw several police cars and fire trucks. When I landed I found out some woman who lives across from the airport reported a plane crash. We both took off and looked around and there was no crash. She must have seen my Kolb with short landing capability and thought I had crashed. All was well! I flew in from Wells Nev, arriving at 1045, Karen drove in around 1230. John H and W arrived two days earlier. Arty called and said that she was at Nampa, Idaho, and should be home tomorrow. With the weather the way that it has been I think that a covered wagon could have made as good a time. The storms were as regular as clock work. A lot of days we could only fly 110 miles a day.
