The carbon in the MR Funnel is good and bad... If you ground it, it will not build up a static charge, and that is great. If you do not ground the MR Funnel, it will be much more likely have the same static charge that your red plastic gas jug has and to spark to a metal filling nozzle at the gas station. As posted in the first thread about the fire, if there is metal ( or carbon ) for a metal nozzle to spark to, you are more likely to get a nice fire causing spark out of it than just by filling into a plastic can. From: "planecrazzzy" <planecrazzzy@yahoo.com>
Holy Cow.... I took off one of my blades today ( I added the spacer blocks ) I did a static run up to set the pitch.... Thought it was good....Went flying around the pattern.... The "R's" wouldn't get has high as I wanted.... But HOLY COW....I was Hauling azz.... I landed and took a little "bite" out of the prop ( 1/2 turn ) But it was too much , so I put a quarter turn back into it..... Something I don't understand.... When I folded the plane up at the end of the day (cheaper hanger rent) The aileron tubes were being "bowed" from pushing on the prop.... I ended up putting the prop straight up & down.... Does anybody elses do that....I built that area "Stock" Maybe only the Tennesse prop will fold like that ??? Gotta Fly... Mike & "Jaz" in MN / N381PM PS Fastest Ground speed today GPS said 98 mph -------- . . . . . Mike, The wings should fold the same as they did with the three blade or is this the first time you actually folded the wings? Perhaps you can solve the problem by changing the aileron position? I might be wrong Mike but I raised my engine a bit to avoid the two blade prop from hitting the aileron tubes they were close but not bending anything and there is not much of a change in flight characteristics if you ever haul your plane on an Open trailer don't have a two blade in the vertical position or you will be patching the fabric on the bottom of a wing I didn't do it but I know of another guy that did just that just trying to be helpful Ellery In Maine got five hours in the air today do not archive ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
