Gary, Welcome to the Kolb List. The description of your tail wheel mod is pretty good but a photo or two would be even better. Can you do that for us? Thom in Buffalo

I was reading the description, and about half way through gave up. A picture is worth a thousand words.... A couple pictures would be great to really get an idea of your mod. I guess I started this photo attachment discussion by posting the photo of my trailer. I'm sorry but sometimes its just better to post a photo. The photo was a large photo 1600+KB that I shrunk down to 254KB before sending it. I know you guys that have dial up service had a problem with it but for crying out loud how picky can you get! You guys want every one else to change which I did by shrinking it down but you will not make the suggested changes to your computers avoid the photo down loads your self. It would seem that now is the time to make those changes and quit crying about the attachments. This is the only comment I will make on this subject. I'm back from Oshkosh and had a wonderfull time. I flew out of Oshkosh about 6:15AM on Saturday while John H was getting his beauty sleep and arrived home with my Kolb trailer in tow around 11:30PM. I camped in the Ultralight campground with Mark German, John Hauck, and Scott Trask. We had some great laffs about Mark Germans incounter with the EAA welcome wagon. Later in the week two firestars(non list) joined us but most of the week we we were greatly out numbered. I had GPS/Comm problems on the flight from Iron Mountin to Oshkosh and back but thanks to John H's suggestion I found it wasn't my GPS/Comm. I still haven't narrowned it down to weather it is the antenna, PTT, Headset, or intercom but... For the future of Oshkosh flyins I would like to suggest that we start sending E-mails to the EAA and poltely suggest that it would be nice to maybe have A trash barrel, A porta potty, and maybe move the sea plane shower a bit closer to where the people are. The area of concern is the ultralight/LSA plane/camping area. The numbers of campers, vendors, vendors planes and spectators were noticable reduced this year. Mike, I'm familiar with the mod you picture, but I have replaced the original springs with stiffer ones from Ace hardware.because of the taxi problem in stiff crosswinds. This mod just evens out the rudder pressures and takes the jerky response out of it thanks,G Aman Do you have compression springs ? Mike Just a guess on my part. I think there are a bunch of dealers that have been selling their planes as ultralights and can't as a LSA. The true ultralight only dealers can't afford the dealer charges at Oshkosh. Are you on the Geo list? I went through the description there already. It looks like the drive shaft coupler is about 3.5 mm too long. I suppose I can force the whole thing shut by torqueing the nuts down on it but I don't want the stress deformation on the BMW rubber donut. So I am going to machine the crown down so it will fit snag and tight but without deforming the rubber donut. Did you have any trouble with your set up? Also it was a bit of a bear to get the RDU to mate through the studs into the bell housing. I guess the russians are not known for CNC machinning. I got it to fit good but it took some additional machinning. Gee wheez... it never ends...... :-( Just once it would be nice if everything goes along smoothly. The Tiny url doesn't work. It takes you to a page that asks you to join Yahoo groups. I hate that! Yahoo groups are so much worse than people whining about dial-ups! Waahh! Why doesn't anything ever work right? Waahh! Must be this ol' sinful world we live in... Glad I don't have any real problems - I'll enjoy the pictures if I ever get to see them....
