Dear Listers,
There are just a couple days left for this year's List Fund Raiser. Over all,
participation has been good, but things have been pretty slow this week for some
reason. If you've been putting off making your Contribution until the last
minute, this is it! The last minute, that is... :-)
Please remember that there isn't any sort of commercial advertising on the Lists
and the *only* means of keeping these Lists running is through your Contributions
during this Fund Raiser.
Please make a Contribution today!

Thank you!

Good idea Mike, but maybe a blueberry pancake and SAUSAGE breakfast celebration
would be better. Blueberries grow wild on our land and unless that hog is a
sow rather than a boar, we better make some sausage with it.
We live right on the edge of the Okefenokee Swamp. This past spring the "Monster"
fire came within a quarter mile of our house. We were evacuated three times.
The first time evacuated our house was broken into and robbed. But thank
the Lord we and our house and our goats and chickens made it safely through.

Kolb-List message posted by: "Aaron Gustafson" <agustafson@chartermi.net>
Jim Swan (on this list) has the Firestar trailer that I built. He may be
able to post some pictures of the tail support in it. I think it worked very
well and easy if I might blow my horn.

Hello everyone,
Yes Aaron is correct his design of boom support work's very well. If
anyone would like pictures let me know, I will go out in take some and post.

I am beginning to think that the fiberglass tank that sits in the cage behind the
seat on my US is custom made.
Its a really great job who ever made it .....looks production and fits perfectly
and snugly right near the CG and the carb is all downhill from the tank's pickup
with a 24" run of fuel line via a low point fuel filter/water trap and the
pump....can't imagine a better arrangement is even possible.
Just got a fuel sender unit to install and wire to my E1 digital engine monitor
since I can't see the fuel level behind my seat.
It will show up on my instrument where the oil Pressure sensor would normally be
and have a settable low fuel alarm.
Don't you just love digital instruments!

I'd say make the runway, eat the Boar and target practice with trespassers that
are not on fire during an evacuation.
Glad to hear you made out well.
I think you could make good bounty/reward money during an evacuation, by returning
on the sly after you are escorted out with a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 with a good
scope.
There is nothing more disgusting than having looters rob evacuated homes....except
maybe watching a croc eat a looter in the swamp [Wink]

The good thing about the polyfiber/stits process is that if you use the right components
they will all chemically bond to each other right from the poly tak
to the poly-tone....thats why you can use the poly brush to stick patches down
right to some MEK cleaned poly-tone and it will stick well.
I'd stay away from non-polyfiber products just to avoid having to do things twice
when the non compatible product eventually lets go.

Or a 12 gauge loaded with buckshot from a low flying Kolb... :)

Do you guys lubricate the piano hinges on the control surfaces of your Kolbs ?
I have read reports of these wearing on the elevator and rudder over time. If
so what type of oil do you use on them ?

A dry lube like graphite spray would be good.
Wet sticky lubes get dirt and grit mixed in them and cause faster erosion of the
metal parts....definitely not a good thing.
