The first time I laid eyes on the MkIII trim system I also thought it
was a goofy looking contraption.
But being much too busy rebuilding the plane, I was willing to give
it a try.
Works perfect. I think the reason for no flutter problems is that the
entire horizontal assembly,
including the elevator is under load. If you used a tab you might
actually reduce that load
in the wrong place and end up with flutter.
Looks better too without extra crap hanging outside.

Kolb related as I will be at the Kolb Monument Valley Fy-in, however; I should
have not have used that language. My apologies.

Richard:
Did you ever have any problems with PVC and gasoline? I have seen where PVC has
dissolved in gasoline and fuel oil piping installations.
Yours is a nifty set-up. Every plane I have owned could use more tanks.
Fly safe,

No Mike, YOU ARE NOT!
I've seen several of electric motors flutter back and forth...
Seems to me that if someone wants a "real airplane" maybe they should have bought
one...

We made up a test length of pipe and capped it off, filled it with gas
and let it set for several days. Then dumped the gas out and and
immediately checked it for softness or deterioration of the glue joint.
Nothing noted, but that doesn't mean it won't go bad in ten years...

Does this also apply to the Firestar II?
