Ah yes, the "stork" UltraStar. I've heard of US's being modified with
FireStar gear, too. The problem is, you have to add the height to insure
adequate prop clearance when the gear compresses. The previous owner of my
plane just installed much larger, soft tires... but then it wouldn't fit in
the trailer so I had to go smaller again... and land carefully.

Hi Jimmy,
You should probably take a "pinch" of bite outa yer prop...
Straight and level flight with full throttle should hit 6500...( got VSI ? )
You'll still see your faster cruise....
but you'll also have better climb out...
Gotta Fly...

PS I wrote on my hub plate with a "sharpie" ,
so when I make adjustments to pitch ,
I turn it the right way. ( )

Hi Mike,
I'm about a week behind on reading emails. Did you get an answer to your
question? If not, what email software are you using? The menu items are
set up differently in the various programs, so you need to specify what
you're using to get an answer.
I use SeaMonkey (a combination of Firefox web browser & Thunderbird
email client). In SeaMonkey, at the options bar on the top of the screen
you click Edit>Preferences> then under the Mail & Newsgroups category
you click Send Format. From there, you pick how you want to send the
email (plain text, HTML, both plain & HTML, etc).
Be aware that some email servers will strip off any HTML even if you
send it that way. Also, sending anything other than plain text often
results in garbage characters embedded in the receiver's display of the
message.
If you're using Outlook (Ugh) and have MS Office on the computer, you
can set it up to use MS Word to compose emails. I'd have to check on how
to do it next week at work, where I'm forced to use Outlook. Be aware
also that Outlook, if you don't have an effective firewall & virus
checking, along with the most current bug fixes, is very vulnerable to
hackers when you're on a broadband connection.

Mike,
Actually, I did just that this morning, took some pitch back out. My WOT
rpms are about 6300. That pitch change increased the egt temps up to
1040 - 1070 range, as they were in the mid 900's. I will keep it there
for a few more flights and watch the temps as the weather warms up. And
yes, I do have a vertical speed indicator, on the EIS and the GPS. The
increased change in cruise speed is really nice.
With regard to which way to adjust the prop, I'll never forget that
after going the wrong way the first time. A while back, I also learned
the hard way about which way to adjust the elevator trim..... Thanks for
the input.
