Terry,
I am UNABLE to attend this year. Last year was absolutely great experience for
me as the first and only (so far) Kolb group fly-in I've been able to attend.
That is where I met John Williamson and so many others who I've grown to know
a bit and appreciate a lot.

Morning Gang:
Will be departing Laramie, WY, after a quick trip to McDonald's for coffee and
flight food (sausage bisquit).
The FBO and all the line guys at Cowboy Aviation took care of me after my short
1.5 hour flight across the mountains from Dixon, Wy, yesterday morning. I slept
on a wonderful old couch in the FBO last night, and had access to the courtesy
car whenever it was time to feed........ This FBO is reminicent to the FBO
at Ontario, OR, where John W and I spent 2.5 days last week, for the same reason,
high winds.
I appologize for not posting sooner. I was not up to the task.
The little mkIII is faithfully hauling most of my worldly possesions and me, as
we fly through the Rocky Mountains, which will soon disappear behind us and begin
the long journey across the plains of Kansas.
Looks like another two days, maybe three, before I set up to land at the little
grass strip in Titus, AL. I am looking at 1240 sm and strong winds out of the
south and southeast today. If they get uncomfortable and unmanageable, I will
find a place to land and tie down to wait them out.
I appreciate all the kind words about my flying buddy and close friend John W.
Also want to say thank you to my friends who have sent me messages back copy.
I might add, this was the best flight and adventure John W and I have had to date,
despite winds and weather. We had a blast!
John W is already missed greatly.....................

Hi Folks:
Thanks for the info on John W's funeral arrangements.
Got out of Laramie in polar fleece and leather flight jacket, with gloves. Now
in Goodland, KS, sweating my butt off. ;-) The transition is miserable. May
turn around and fly back to Oregon.
Winds are 180 at 18 gusting to 28 mph. That is above the normal limits for me
and John W. May be on the ground here for a while. Looks like a nice place.
Friendly folks here.

My husband and I were next door neighbors to John and his wife. He was always
very friendly. When our 1 year old took a tumble on the driveway he was the first
one to come over and ask if help was needed. Our last conversation was about
his kids and how he taught them to ride bikes when he lived in Germany. He
surely will be missed.. and our condolences go out to his family and all his
flying buddies.

Hi Gang:
Down for the day and night at Goodland, KS.
Winds now 26 gusting to 36 mph.
Folks at the FBO have given me permission to RON in their beautiful facility.
Upstairs is a choice of two very long couches. Also have a computer and cable
TV.
Before I told them I wanted to stay on the airport, the young lady at the desk
handed me car keys and directions to the nearest motel. Had to explain to her
I preferred to stay on the airport.
Take care,

John..if you get this before you leave Kansas, and just in case those strong winds
divert you a tad north of your intended course, the spare bedroom is unoccupied
and Sue said she would be glad to feed you again.
Strong storms predicted for tomorrow eve, so we can probably get Ms P'fer a spot
inside at 2HO (shelby county) if you need it.
Doors always open for ya pard.
Just call if you need...
