This may be working ok for you but I have two problems with it:
-It appears that it could be drawing the worm AWAY from the slots.
-I occasionally give a slight turn to all my hose clamps to
compensate for gradual shrinkage
of the rubber.
Not to be taken as a criticism, just my $.02

Well...........Now I have seen yours and Steven's photos of safety wiring a
hose clamp.
However, no one has answered my questions of why the requirement.
Never had nor heard of a hose clamp backing off or loosening up because the
screw backed out.
As Bob B stated, he goes back periodically and snugs up his hose clamps
because of shrinkage and compression. I do the same thing. If I had to cut
and resafety the clamps every time I checked them for snugness, it would
turn into a full time job.
Did the screw back out on your clamp you lost on your engine, or did you
forget to go back and snug them up periodically?

Bob,
It appears that this may be the case, but if you look at how the clamp body
is constructed the distance that the screw can move away from the clamp
strap is fixed. The wire can not move the screw away from the slots.
When I clamp something new, a replacement hose, I do not safety wire the
clamp until the hose has been exposed to several thermal cycles. Then I
re-snug the clamp and safety it. I used to periodically check all clamps,
but I found that I had a tendency to give each one a little tweak and
eventually over tighten them.

It spins pretty good, fairly controllable. Losses about 500 ft or
less per turn.
All it takes to stop is take your foot off the left rudder.
