Bob, It looks real and demonstrates that if you have enough power and remaining control surfaces, plus some luck you can fly anything. Some time back I watched a video of an Israel jet that landed with most of the right wing missing. He had to fly with afterburner to keep it in the air. Jack B. It was done using a model plane. My local EAA just sent the proof last night on how it was done. I would post it but I have already deleted it . At 5:00 p.m. they were closed. I know should have called, but I was traveling fast. Wow what a drop on the end of the runway. LOL.... What pretty country. Went out on the runway to capture this shot. I've never seen a large RC aerobatic plane that doesn't use wing tubes. The plane in the vid didn't have them. I think it's incredible that he got into that spin and was able to recover from it and go on to land, whether it was RC or full-scale ! A reliable eyewitness would be our only source of verity. The fact that an RC plane could do it leaves room for possibility. Wonder if we'll ever know for sure? Russ, I've done R/C since I was twelve... the plane in the video (until the very end after the landing when it rolls to a stop and the pilot gets out) is undoubtedly an R/C, with blurs and out of frame moments hiding transitions. There are several videos floating around of R/C planes pulling this off. It does take a very skillful R/C pilot. -Dana do not archive -- Please return stewardess to original upright position. ________________________________ Message 16 ____________________________________ Time: 07:12:46 PM PST US From: "Jack B.
