It is a 4" diameter full swivel with some use mostly on grass but in perfect working order with only a little wear on the rubber. A new one is $288.95 from Aircraft Spruce. I'll sell mine for a lot less. This one came off of BB's MkIII when he went to a 6 inch wheel. He sold it to me for my FS but after breaking the FS and selling the remains, I no longer need the swivel tailwheel. The SS I'm buying has one already. If you are interested, make me a reasonable offer. If you fly a lot, it may wear out sooner than you expect. john h mkIII ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 09:32:26 AM PST US Subject: Kolb-List: New Video of Kolb Flying Formation with Ultralight Trikes From: "JetPilot" Here is a new video of me flying with some ultralight trikes in my Kolb MK III Xtra. The wheels are replaceable. Next time I go to the hangar, I'll bring it home, weight it and shoot a photo of it. This much I can tell you for certain: it is a good bit heavier than the standard Kolb tailwheel but it sure improves ground handling. How close to aft CG limit are you? If you are very close, it could be iffy. I'll let you know its weight as soon as I know it. -------- Thom Riddle Buffalo, NY http://riddletr.googlepages.com/sportpilot-cfi http://riddletr.googlepages.com/a%26pmechanix A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that works. - John Gaule Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=254592#254592 ________________________________ Message 9 _____________________________________ Time: 11:02:10 AM PST US Subject: Kolb-List: Slingshot questions From: "Thom Riddle" I have a few Slingshot questions for the few SS pilots on the list or anyone who knows: 1) What size main tires are considered standard on the Slingshot? Luray's has 800x6 which seem to be a bit overkill unless you operate on pretty rough fields. 2) Is the standard SS tail wheel a full swivel or like the FS and FF and what diameter is it? 3) What is the correct Vne for the Slingshot? I've seen several numbers ranging from 110 mph to 125 mph. Luray's ASI is redline marked at 110 mph. Thanks for whatever info you can provide. -------- Thom Riddle Buffalo, NY http://riddletr.googlepages.com/sportpilot-cfi http://riddletr.googlepages.com/a%26pmechanix A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that works. - John Gaule Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=254596#254596 ________________________________ Message 10 ____________________________________ Time: 02:54:01 PM PST US From: "Larry Cottrell" Subject: Kolb-List: New Camera, Owyhee Ramblins I made a trip down the Owyhee River this morning and when I got back from the two hour flight, and viewed the video, found that I had a blemish on the camera lens. I attempted to clean the lens and was unable to do so. I managed to drop it the other day when I took it off the mount to obtain pictures to send to the list. I can only assume that the damage occurred when it hit the concrete. So I would caution those of you who bought one, to hold on to it. :-) The blemish is visible, will have to decide whether to buy another one, or put up with this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdZQROfnJRI Most of this has been done by me before, but there are two bands of Bighorn Sheep in this one, and I never get that tired of the scenery down there.
