Rick
I used the 2.7 for all surfaces when I rebuilt my Kolb MkIII back in
the mid 90's. Used 1.7 or 1.8 (which is it?) for all surfaces on
my Firefly..Same for my N3 Pup...and Ultra star...Herb

John, Good point, I was thinking of making them as light as possible so I
could decrease the balance weight. Plan B, use tubing instead of steel rod
and pack one end with lead. I understand the flaps and ailerons on the B-36
were framed with magnesium. I suppose that's a little extreme, though. :-}
