Not specifically Kolb related but should be an inspiration to all pilots who think they are getting old. http://tinyurl.com/27a5vlx -------- Thom Riddle Buffalo, NY (9G0) Kolb Slingshot SS-021 Jabiru 2200A #1574 Tennessee Prop 64x32 If life gives you limes, make Margaritas. - Jimmy Buffet Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=303447#303447

------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Hi, 3 pics taken by a friend who bummed a ride with me a couple of weeks ago. For those with strong stomachs there is a pic. of me in close up. Delete Now. The intersting pic is that of the Caen Hill flight of locks, 19 in all (I think) which lifts the Kennet and Avon Canal which runs from Bristol to London , from the valley floor up to Salisbury Plain. Cheers Pat

Dennis, The absolute best radio reception I've ever had in any airplane (GA included) was an iCom A-200, predecessor to the A-210. It was in the Allegro (factory installed) that I used to own part of. I know nothing about installation issues but can tell you if installed properly this radio's performance was outstanding. I now use a hand-held iCom A6 (no room for a panel mount, nor in my budget) with boom tube mounted antenna and its performance is adequate. -------- Thom Riddle Buffalo, NY (9G0) Kolb Slingshot SS-021 Jabiru 2200A #1574 Tennessee Prop 64x32 If life gives you limes, make Margaritas. - Jimmy Buffet Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=303455#303455

Howdy gang... Just read the note about Travis getting a boom tube delivered... Just want to say how much I appreciate the extra special effort Travis and the others at Kolb put into helping us build, repair and operate our Kolb products. They are a great bunch of people. Every thing we can do through them such as purchasing parts ,etc is really to our benefit. Hopefully we can all help them stay in business and help ourselves and future Kolbers in the process. I have the photo of John H.'s Mark III parked at the edge of the glacier in Alaska as the background photo on my desk top. It is a constant reminder of what a great little plane the Kolb really is. By the way, it is to our benefit to have people like John and others to advise us. Thanks John. Only thing that would make it a better photo would be if you were in the photo. Guess you took the photo... Really looking forward to picking up my VW, re-drive engine from Great Plains Aviation later this month when at OSH. I am sure I will be asking for some advice and input from the guys such as Rick Neilson that have VW conversions, etc.. Anyone heard from Cristal? The MKII or the new baby? Hey Folks, Here's a source of fuel cells that might be considered for fuel tanks. There sold by Summit Racing. Summit racing sells direct on their web site and on eBay. I have made purchases from them several times on both eBay and direct Online. No problems and great service. jerryb http://www.summitracing.com/search/?keyword=fuel%20cells&dds=1

Chris, I am glad to hear that you too have had the pleasure of working with Travis. Travis and the crew shipped my Kolb parts and pieces to me here in Palmer, Alaska. Every piece and part arrived in prefect condition. Kolb would be a thing of the past without Travis! Greetings to all and thanks to Travis, Nick Cassara Proto type Kolbra (under slow reconstruction)
