All the sandbars are under 3 to 4 feet of water. NOAA says the peak came early this morning with flooding farther down stream at the town of Oxford. Looks like it's going to be another wet summer on the Great Plains. Here are the pictures on Barnstormers - http://www.barnstormers.com/listing_images.php?id=451075 It has 110 hours, the finish is fantastic, a lot of the work was done by Kolb. It has a 582 and a 3 to 1 C box with a 3 blade Warp Drive, and it is possibly the quietest Kolb I have ever heard. Electric start, hydraulic heel brakes. It is built exactly to plans, no extra bells and whistles, I have flown it and it flies exactly the way a light MKIII with no extra stuff ought to, no "All it needs is..." stuff. With that being said, the tach doesn't work right, it reads too high. I suggested a TinyTach, I think he will just let the buyer fix it. He wants $14,900, and there is a new trailer available, $5,000 for it. The airplane comes with covers for all surfaces. Here are some pictures I took of it last summer when some friends & I got it out of the trailer & put it together for him. Not much detail, but you can see how good the finish is. Phone number is 423-863-4466, ask for Ed Athey, Ed is selling it for him. I spoke with the EAA and got a few of my questions answered. They guy who answered the phone was most helpful. If anyone else has questions about Sport Pilot's license you can call them at 920-426-6527. The gentleman I talked to was Tim. > > Turns out I can't use any of my ultralight time as dual instruction as I originally thought. You can still use ultralight time for the solo portion of your training, but that's it. 'What that means is that I will need to get 9 more hours of instruction from another CFI and then go back and take my check ride. You also need to have the written passed and a recommendation from the other CFI before you go back to do the check ride. > > As much of a hassle this is turning into, I think I will get my private pilot's license instead. > > Duane > > Duane, Sorry, I'm a little late in replying. I don't check the forum as often since I am little out of commission right now. I know your frustration with trying to get the SP. Three years ago I had a hard time finding anyone who would teach SP and there was no LSA to rent (it's still that way around here). By the time I got my own ELSA I had already went ahead and gotten my medical so I could at least solo in the C150. Since I had gotten that far it was really just a few more hours to go ahead and get the PP. I upgraded the software I had bought from Gleim and that was good enough to get me through the written test. I don't regret one minute of the extra training and now extra freedom (to fly more types of planes or at night) of getting and having the PP. It was worth the extra time and expense. -------- Cristal Waters Kolb Mark II Twinstar Rotax 503 DCSI Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=303982#303982 ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 06:22:05 PM PST US Subject: Re: Kolb-List: Re: Sport Pilot license From: Duane Ransdell Hi Cristal, My sentiments exactly. It will not cost much more to get my PP, so that's the route I eventually intend to take. So far all my training time will count towards that and I don't know why it all won't count. All I will need is 5 more hours training, another check ride, a medical and a cross country. I'm pretty close to that right now. > > Duane, > Sorry, I'm a little late in replying.
