Subject: | Re: landing lights |
Hi all,
I haven't been keeping up on the list lately but caught a discussion about
landing lights. Just an FYI on the set (2) that I have. They are LED an
d mega bright. I hardly ever fly at night but have come in a few times as
the sun dropped from the sky; and the lights lit up the field like a nigh
t game at your favorite stadium. I think that I got the first set that Di
ck Kuntzleman (Kuntzleman Electronics, Pottstown, PA), made about 3 yrs ag
o. Mine are square & I should have them changed to the newer streamlined
ones, but they ARE very bright. I've had more than a few "bumpy" landing
s and fly from a hard, grass strip & the lights have worked without any pr
oblems. Dick has been doing strobes & nav lights for year. I haven't spo
ken to him since Homer's funeral, but I assume that he is still making the
landing lights. I know that they are bright, less expensive then others
and you can't beat his personal service.
Also wondering if his MK II is still in mothballs or if he's flying lately
. His Kolb is a beaut!

Subject: | MarkIII for sale - West Coast |
A friend of mine is selling his Mark III. He asked me to post it here. This is
a very good deal on a 912 powered MarkIII.
For Sale-The complete package: 1998 Kolb Mark III. Nice clean airplane, always
hangered, needs nothing. 157hrs airframe and engine (ROTAX 912UL 80hp). This plane
is flown weekly, so total time will be slightly higher. 72" Taper tip Warp
Drive Prop with Stainless leading edges. Custom 20-gal fuel tank. Kolb full
swivel tailwheel. Dual controls. Hydraulic brakes. Icom handheld radio w/external
antenna, two headsets and intercom. Kolb built dolly for easy moving while
folded.
Custom 26' Dual-axle Haulmark trailer/hanger with extra D-rings built into the
floor, 12" extra height for three blade prop and outside spare tire mount to save
space inside. Very clean. $9000 when new in 2007. Asking $25,000 for the
package. If you have been waiting for a deal on a MarkIII package, this is it.
