Gang, I need a bit of help. I bought a new camera for the Kolb, a Countour HD by Vholdr. While the camera takes good movies, they can only be edited in Quicktime. They are finished as a mov. file rather than a AVI. file that I have been using before. My question is, if I use this, will it be viewable by other computers. I read the reviews on the editing software, and it reads like a horror story by 2/3 rd of the reviewers. (Quick time Pro) Any one having any experience or thoughts would be welcomed. Larry, if youtube will accept the format it will be viewable by anyone. If they can't take it try Streamclip. Beautiful flying weather today in Noo Yawk. I got in a good ride this morning to my favorite sunday morning destination, interrupted only by buzz jobs on a friend and my daughter's place. Coffee and conversation were offered. Little Kolb performed perfectly and brought me back home. BB On 11, Jul 2010, at 12:36 PM, Larry Cottrell wrote: > Gang, > I need a bit of help. Most people have Quicktime viewer on their PC, so, yeah, it's viewable by other computers. If not, it's a free download. So many videos out there are MOV, so it's one of the many standards. Larry, I purchased Quick Time Pro a few years ago and as soon as I got past the short learning curve, it was ok. But if you want to use the software that comes with Windoze, download Next Video Converter 3.5 (free) http://www.nextvideosoft.com/ and then you can convert Quick Time to whatever you like. My Lumix Digital camera films in Quick Time, but here is a sample of converting it to a much smaller bandwidth movie that I could post on our web page. The original Quick Time clip out of the camera was somewhere around 40 or so mb, but this is a conversion to a mpeg-4 (mp4) 10 mb clip that doesn't look too bad. Thanks guy's, I appreciate the responses. I will bite the bullet and give it a try. This camera is pretty small, takes high def movies, but somehow my computer doesn't recognize it, so it will have to go back. Not too impressive, although they are sending me a prepaid shipping package. The camera does not have stabilization, so it is going to be a bit of a challenge to keep the shakes out of it, but the color and clarity are superior to what I have been using. I really think at this time I should have listened to John Bickham however. From: william sullivan <williamtsullivan@att.net> > Jack- How are you doing with the MZ34 engine? Haven't heard anything for a while. > Bill, Finally, I believe, I have the Tillotson carburetor problem resolved. The last time I disassembled it, I blew out all the galleys with compressed air. Some white stuff blew out, but I could not find it afterwards to see what it was. They use a Eastman product to help seal the press in plugs. I have found some of it loose on the control diaphragm side of the plug. This carburetor was designed before ethanol, and may be the sealer is not compatible with ethanol. After blowing it out I checked the high speed check valve action and it was better than what I thought it was on previous attempts. To make it easier to start carburetor adjustment from scratch, I brought some adjuster tubes forward and under the wing crossover beam so the I could adjust the needles with the engine running. Any way the engine is running, with good and seemingly stable EGT and CHT. Too early to be sure. Tomorrow I will start unwrapping the Tiny-tach lead to get a good tach reading. Then I can set the propeller and go fly. Jack B. Hart FF004 Winchester, IN

Jack, Good to hear a report on the MZ. Are you using a Mister Funnel when you pump fuel. Two different times I have found white stringy stuff in my gas. I dont know if that is related to the alcohol or not. I dont have a clue what it is. Hope things go your way! Ed Diebel FF( 062) In a message dated 7/11/2010 6:31:53 P.M.
