Say what you will about windows but I am a self-taught programmer for my businesses since 1980. In the late 80's I wrote a lot of programs in Visual Basic 3 for windows 3.1. I am still running those same programs today in windows 7. Even the dos programs I wrote in Qbasic still run, and I use a couple of them every day. It is the bane and the boon of windows that it always supports prior versions. No other operating system ever, has done that. I still use VB3 for all my programming except for web pages. Hi Kolbers, A week ago while doing maintenance on my plane, the gascolator seal gasket broke. It is a Tillotson gascolator. I can not find where to buy spare parts to replace the gasket. Any idea? Thanks. -Juan Puerto EC-ZCU Barcelona SPAIN

Juan=2C Usually the auto supply parts house sells sheets of gasket material. Yea rs ago I bought of the fiber type and the cork type gasket in 8" x 11" sheets. I ha ve made many gaskets from these two sheets. When you can't buy a replacement gasket=2C making one yourself is better than nothing. Juan, nitrile rubber, also called buna-N is resistant to gasoline. Perhaps a local supplier could sell you a little piece. If not there are several online suppliers: http://www.allstategasket.com/info_gasket_material_style-1190.asp BB, MkIII, suzuki attempting to catch up on domestic projects before the chill comes. Juan, Another option may be to see if McMaster Carr has a square form Buna N O-ring of the right size. http://www.mcmaster.com/#square-o-rings/=8k87ol <http://www.mcmaster.com/#square-o-rings/=8k87ol>Rick Girard On Wed, Aug 25, 2010 at 10:56 AM, robert bean <slyck@frontiernet.net> wrote: > Juan, nitrile rubber, also called buna-N is resistant to gasoline. > Perhaps a local supplier could sell you a little piece. > If not there are several online suppliers: > http://www.allstategasket.com/info_gasket_material_style-1190.asp > > BB, MkIII, suzuki > attempting to catch up on domestic projects before the chill comes. > > On 25, Aug 2010, at 10:51 AM, AEROTECNIK@terra.es wrote: > > Hi Kolbers, > > A week ago while doing maintenance on my plane, the gascolator seal gasket > broke. Very well done how-to site! His process can be simplified even further (most of the tank can be built 'dry', then then 'buttered' with proseal), & that's why I like riveted aluminum construction so much. For me, at least, it's *much* easier than trying to weld aluminum.
