Say what you will about windows but I am a self-taught programmer for my
businesses since 1980. In the late 80's I wrote a lot of programs in Visual
Basic 3 for windows 3.1. I am still running those same programs today in
windows 7. Even the dos programs I wrote in Qbasic still run, and I use a
couple of them every day. It is the bane and the boon of windows that it
always supports prior versions. No other operating system ever, has done
that. I still use VB3 for all my programming except for web pages.

Subject: | Tillotson gascolator |
Hi Kolbers,
A week ago while doing maintenance on my plane, the gascolator seal gasket broke.
It is a Tillotson gascolator. I can not find where to buy spare parts to replace
the gasket. Any idea?
Thanks.

Usually the auto supply parts house sells sheets of gasket material. Yea
rs ago I
bought of the fiber type and the cork type gasket in 8" x 11" sheets. I ha
ve made many gaskets
from these two sheets.
When you can't buy a replacement gasket=2C making one yourself is better
than nothing.

Juan, nitrile rubber, also called buna-N is resistant to gasoline.
Perhaps a local supplier could sell you a little piece.
If not there are several online suppliers:

Juan, Another option may be to see if McMaster Carr has a square form Buna N
O-ring of the right size.

Very well done how-to site! His process can be simplified even further
(most of the tank can be built 'dry', then then 'buttered' with
proseal), & that's why I like riveted aluminum construction so much.
