Each year it gets bigger and better but not near up to what Sun-N-fun is. Three or four hours is enough for me. It tends to be more of a high end LSA show. They haven't reserved any space for camping and little for people that fly in. So far the Kolb factory hasn't attended and no Kolb has flown in. I will not be attending the Expo this year because I will be in Costa Rica. We need to organize a Kolb Flyin or two again this winter in south west Florida. Is anyone out there interested? The weather has been cold and windy so not much good flying weather. I'm a bit busy with the holidays and a trip till the end of January but after that. I left my plane in Michigan this winter but I'm all checked out in a SportCruiser so I can attend a flyin most anywhere in Florida if I can reserve the plane. After doing some research on their web site I discovered they want to charge me 10.00 to sleep under my wing, plus entrance and parking fee. I think I will wait until you guys get something going down there when the weather gets better. From: "Frankd" Hi Thom, thanks for the diagram. I think I'll get the engine started first and do the taxi tests and see how its all going before I start digging into the Carb to check this needle. I also need to verify what model Bing I have and Engine # as I'd like to leave it alone if it ain't broke. What worries me this that Chris had an issue after his engine ran fine for some time.. On another topic, when I did a fuel flow test using just a external fuel pump I got about 1gal in three minutes, is that too much fuel flow and will it flood the engine or does the engine fuel pump regulate the flow enough to keep it all in spec? I saw some air in the fuel line before the fuel pump and it seemed that most of the fuel was pulling from one tank and not both. Gotta test for leaks. I have a 2001 Kawasaki KLR 650 dual sport motorcycle with 21,XXX miles. Has a fair amount of aftermarket accessories and D606 tires installed this last summer. It's ugly and has it's share of scrapes but is a very reliable machine. I'm located in souther Colorado. From: "Thom Riddle" Frank, Jabiru specifies in their installation manual that the minimum fuel pressure (to the carb inlet) is .75 psi and the maximum is 3 psi. Fuel flow tests are done to make sure that the fuel supply system up to the carb is sufficient under maximum power conditions. The standard most go by is that the fuel flow to the carb inlet should be at least 150% of the maximum power fuel requirement. Max power fuel requirement of the Jabiru 2200 is about 6.5 gph so 150% would be about 9.75 gph which is about 1/2 gallon in three minutes. This means that with the external fuel pump you have twice the minimum. No problem with that BUT, and this is a big BUT. You must make sure that this pump in series (I assume) with the engine mounted pump does not produce more than 3 PSI to the carb inlet. I have a Facet electric pump that I use for making sure the float bowl is full before starting but then turn it off just before starting. I don't know the pressure output of this pump and would only use it if the engine driven pump seemed to be acting up. I also run a facet fuel pump, but I leave mine on all the time due to the fact that my fuel is lower than optimal for my engine. However I bought the fuel pump that is rated for our engines. You can get them with varying pressures, mine is 3-5 psi. That way you won't have to worry about over powering your carbs. Anyone have or know of a source for an surplus (cheap is good) geared down 120V AC motor of 1/4-1/3 HP. Inline or right angle gear box will work - need a shaft output of around 20-43 (desired) or 80-100 RPM. This in not for an aviation orientated project. I can't justify the cost of a new unit for its intended use. If so please email direct.
