Ellery,
I have looked, but did not see any pic's of the broken prop. Are they
posted somewhere? I'm sure others are as concerned, I have two Warps
myself. I have done searches for Warp drive prop problems, and only find
problems with some direct drive applications, and older style prop hub
cracks, but never blades coming apart. I too would like to see the ntsb
report when it comes out.
Thanks

- The photos of Ellery's prop are posted on his page on Facebook.- Mayb
e he will also post here.
- I have a Warp Drive prop on the Firestar, and I have a broken blade out
in the garage from my accident.- Mine flipped over, and one blade snappe
d in half.- The interior does not look like Ellery's.- If it matters, m
y blade does have a serial number.

Chris, you're ski look good in flight. Just make sure the front bungee is strong
enough to overcome the weight of any snow that might accumulate on the front
of the ski. After every takeoff, look down at your skis, at a safe altitude,
to make sure they are tipped up at the proper angle. If the skis were to tip downward
for any reason and you landed that way, the plane could flip over on its
back. I saw this happen to a pilot one time.

That's not a Warp Drive prop. Warps are solid carbon fiber and no center fill.
It does look like a Power Fin, but certainly not a Warp.

Eugene, Go to the Power Fin site and check out the different blade
planforms. They have nothing that looks like Ellery's prop. Look at the
blade grips and it's even more obvious that Ellery's prop is a Warp Drive.

I'm trying to work out in my head which side of the rudder I need to put the trim
tab on. I've got 582 powered mark3 with 3 bladed warp prop. Most of the mark3's
I've seen have the trim tab on the left side of the rudder, but I think
they were mostly 912 powered and I think that engine rotates opposite the 582.
The 582 rotates clockwise aft looking forward, so I believe I'll need right
rudder takeoff

I need right rudder on take off,,,, and left rudder on approach,,,, the
secret to rudder trim is what do you need in straight and level flight.
for the short time on takeoff and the short time on glide slope,, you
can use the pedals.... what you want to eliminate is the constant
rudder pressure during the bulk of the flight. that is what you need to
trim out. tell me what you need in level flight, not takeoff, climb
out, or decent.
if you really need right rudder trim in level flight.... you should
put the tab an the left side of the rudder, and bend it to the left.
that will force the rudder to the right,
if you need left rudder in level flight, put the trim tab on the right
and bend it to the right, that will force the rudder to the left.
