No license required. Unless it has been modified so that it won't meet 103 rules. Please, lets not start picking at each other. -------- GeoB "Members of Congress should be compelled to wear uniforms like NASCAR drivers, so we could identify their corporate sponsors" Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=350531#350531 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 08:43:54 AM PST US Subject: Kolb-List: Re: CORRECTION Firefly license requirement From: "henry.voris" GeoB, No offense intended pal... Just confused... I read the Subject of your submission about "Firefly license requirement", but the body of the thread is about the requirements for a sport pilot ticket... Part 103 and Sport Pilot...Two different subjects... It's confusing... Was simply making a comment for the sake of clarity... Sorry if there was a misunderstanding. Attached is a shot of Kaaawa Valley (Oahu) from last week. In the lower part of the photo you can see, underwater, a sandy area in the reef that reaches to the beach. The fresh water seeping from the island (an extension of the streams) dilutes the seawater to the point where the coral will not grow... From: "henry.voris" Bill, One more photo from that flight... Kaulapapa is a peninsula on the north shore of Molokai... It was formed by the caldera near the top of the photo. Just beyond the top of the photo are huge sea cliffs that cut off Kaulapapa from the rest of the island. Even today the only land access is via a mule trail that switchbacks down the face of the cliffs. It's a leper colony. In the old days ships would sail close and dump the lepers into the sea. Most never made it to shore. Those that did were to live out the remains of their lives under the law of the jungle. A place of much pain, darkness and suffering. When the surf is big, the breaking waves will send a wall of spray onto the numbers at the 5 end of the runway... Big thrill for the passengers but makes the plane all salty. Don't fly the FireFly between the islands... All shot from a spam-can I rent from the local flight school.
