Kip, I agree, great videos. That looked to me like Stone Mountain on the horizon after take-off from the RC field. I lived in Atlanta most of my adult life. At which airport do you base your airplanes? If you are old enough and have been in Atlanta long enough, you might remember Gunn Field in Lithonia where I got my primary flight training in 1966, about 5 miles south of Stone Mountain park. It closed in mid 70s I think and was built over with houses or apartments. do not archive -------- Thom Riddle Buffalo, NY (9G0) Kolb Slingshot SS-021 Jabiru 2200A #1574 Tennessee Prop 64x32 Truth is what stands the test of experience. - Albert Einstein Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=357508#357508

I highly recommend this Mike Busch webinar. It is long, about 1.5 hours, but worth your time. http://www.eaavideo.org/video.aspx?v=1268563560001 -------- Thom Riddle Buffalo, NY (9G0) Kolb Slingshot SS-021 Jabiru 2200A #1574 Tennessee Prop 64x32 Truth is what stands the test of experience. - Albert Einstein Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=357519#357519

Thom, I keep the planes at Monroe. That was Stone Mountain to the west and the RC field is next to Alcovy Mountain. I have been in ATL since 1996 so I don't remember Gunn field... It depends on how it's done. The worst enemy of equipment stored is moisture. -rising up through the ground. I never had that problem with my old shed up on the strip because it is so well drained. My new barn, on the other hand, is located just a few feet from the foot of a large hill which exudes bounteous quantities of H2O. In this case, in addition to several hundred feet of subterranean plastic tile, I spread heavy black plastic, covered with several inches of fine crushed stone. The barrier has given me a dry floor. Nonetheless, I shall be paving the whole works with 5 inches of reinforced concrete next year.
