I think I need to read up more on this paint system. I am recovering the ma in frame assy. after some mod's. Unless I see something worth while that I can afford I will stick with my Flex Bon house paint and clear coat it. I u sed it 8 yro and it still looks good and no problem. Lets face it retiremen t sucks and can't afford thing like we did. From: d-m-hague@comcast.net Subject: Re: Kolb-List: Stewart's is good=2C Oratex may be better... There was a discussion on Oratex over on http://homebuiltairplanes.com a wh ile ago=2C I'm sure a search for "Oratex" will bring up the thread. The la te Mark Stull got a sample kit and played with it. As I recall=2C he wasn' t crazy about it but it may be because he was using something lighter. I t needs no paint=3B you apply a heat sensitive where it will touch the airc raft frame=3B let it dry=2C drape it over the wings=2C use iron to stick it down and to shrink it. I've been thinking about for the new ultralight I' m designing as I hate painting. -Dana At 04:40 PM 4/28/2012=2C Nick Cassara wrote: I work with a couple A&P s who now use Stewards to cover the Supercubs they work on=2C and they will never go back to Stits. There now is another prod uct out there that might be a good choice for light aircraft called Oratex. Developed in Germany this covering product is per-colored and other wise s ound similar to Stewards. Folks in Germany and England are using it on LSA. I found a distributor in Canada=2C but so far can t find one in the US. Ha s anyone heard of Oratex? -- Money does not buy happiness.
