The engine always performed well. It did at one time suffer a reduction in power. That problem proved to be a broken head stud. At that point I removed the engine and replaced all the engine bearings and re ringed the engine as it did not have any maintenance history . I sold the microlight about 150 hours after the overhaul. The new owner run it to 800 hrs. then replaced it with a 582 . So in the right application free air works fine. It did have a ram air system to the rear cylinder . I have a chance to buy on I am also wondering if the fan cooling shrouds and fan off a Ski Doo will fit an aircraft 377 or are they the same engine ? In other words, did the engine have the benefit of the prop blast for cooling? Martin B. -------- There is something fascinating about science. After I put it in, I got to thinking it might be interesting for the Kolb forum so I put it in a separate PDF.
