It sounds like all too big of a coincidence to me. Did the person identify
themselves as from the company you had just purchased something from or did
they just phish it out of you? I am the "operator" for incoming calls where
I work. I have had people call up with some crazy stories. When you
question a scammer for specific details or call back numbers, they will
usually hang up. They're looking for easy targets and don't want to waste
time with someone who asks too many questions.
The good news is that you are not liable for the purchases someone else
made to your credit card.
