Kolb Friends -
I am getting ready to replace the battery in my Mark-III, and have been
paying close attention to reports of folks using Lithium-Ion batteries.
The power density in these new technology batteries is impressive, and
they still seem to also have plenty of cranking amps.
Does anybody have experience with one of these batteries on a 912
engine? What size is recommended for a 912? Thanks ...

I'm using one for my 912. The one I have is a 20 AH, 410 CCA EVO2-LifePO4 battery
marketed by Ballistic Performance Components. Part Number 2113-0265. I purchased
this one on eBay. It has given me excellent performance for the 5 months
I have been using it. The other day I did a carb balance and restarted the
engine 7 or 8 times, only running it briefly while I checked the gauges. It
never even began to slow down. I can't say it's the best size or type but
it works for me. It has slightly more power than the old battery I took off and
weights a little less than 2 lbs I believe. Hope that helps.
