I don't know George, I never changed out the aluminum legs on my Mk III and after I learned to land it (Thanks to Travis) it became probably the easiest airplane to land that I've ever flown. When the "Plane from Hell" (a IIIX with the tall steel gear) finally reached the point of flying it landed exactly the same. Fly it down to the deck and let it settle on three. It really doesn't matter what amount of flaps are used, that only changes the touch down speed and the length of the roll out. The trick, if you want to call it that, is exactly what Travis told me, start by wheeling it on and when you've got it to where you can do that every time, start slowing it down a bit at a time.
