Hi all, Because of the withdrawal of support by Microsoft of XP I have installed Windows 7. This has brought with it a change of e-mail format to Live Mail which ,of course, is different to the old system. Not better. Just different. Can someone tell me please how to wipe out all the previous messages in a series and just pick out a sentence to give a clue what the subject is in the message to which a reply is being sent. Previously I just blocked a sentence and copied and pasted it to my reply. That doesn`t seem to work any more. the damn thing will insist of reprinting all the previous messages. Pat

Only ONEwing Russ. What are you up to?. I have heard from a guy who bought my Xtra from the guy to whom I sold it. You remember that he took the 4 stroke off and replaced it with a 2 stroke. The present owner has replaced the 4 stroke and the plane has now been issued with a Certificate of Airworthiness. He is promising to fly down from his home field to our local fly in later in the year. That will give me a chance to see the old girl again. Wx has been super for the last week or so. Chilly wind but blue skies and good viz. We have the Popham Air Fair the weekend after next and that is usually reckoned to be the beginning of the season. We are in the throes of moving house as we have built a bungalow about 100 yards from our present house. Moving in a couple of weeks. This was all brought on by my cancer and back problems. When we bought the plot nearly 2 years ago I was on 2 sticks and was forced to sell the Xtra because I couldn`t hack the pulley hauley, carrying fuel etc. thank goodness I am a lot better but at 85 I shall be glad not to have staires to contend with. During the clear out before moving I have found a painting which I had done many ,many years ago of the syndicate Olympia 2. Most of the guys flying now don`t know any Oly from a Grunau so I have offered it to my old Gliding Club to use either as just a pic. on the wall or as a prize for the Club Ladder Comp or best new pilot or something. They have asked me to present it at the AGM in a couple of weeks time. That will be nice. There are one or two members whom I remember from the old days. Should be fun. Subject: Firefly
    From: Ted Cowan <tc1917@bellsouth.net>
Been watching and reading. Never flown a firefly but i have a bunch of the rest. Had an original firestar with a 447. Nice flyer but in the bumps it will wear you out. Flew a couple of the marks and was impressed. My love goes to the slingshot although I would not mind having a Kobra. My slingshot started with a 582 which really was plenty of power. Went to a 912/80hp and am so happy. Constant climb factor. Best thing about slingshot it lands almost exactly where you want without excessive glide. Bad fuel filter put me down in field with less than two hundred ft roll. No problem. Not for the squeemish or faint of heart to fly. Really sensitive but cuts through the bumps and lumps like a knife. Cruises at 75-95 if you wish. Enough back seat for smallish person or full camping gear plus ten gals of gas. Made a mistake in putting two five gal tanks in back instead of custom fifteen. No complaints or problems. Gotta get them custom made or buy used now. They are a handfull on the ground with torque and P factor but not to hard to overcome. I really love the three gals an hour at 85 mph!!! Dont need vortex generators cause you really DONT want to float this one in. When it drops its tail and ready to flair, you better be really close to ground. Just wanted to add to the mix. I second the request to have it posted. I just joined the SSA and started saving to get my glider rating this summer. It's a cheap add on to a PPL, just 10 flights and a check ride. Can't wait to get back into thermal flying.
