I had planned to try and start it yesterday, but did not get that far. My plans always have a schedule of their own and it is always longer than my schedule. :( The wind is supposed to howl here the next 3 days, so it will probably be late in the week before I can take it back outside for engine start. That is OK, as I still need to do W&B while it is empty, then add gas to the tank one gallon at a time so I can mark the sides of the tank. Since I put a carb kit in it, the carb settings are all at the factory recommended starting points so I suspect there will be quite a lot of tinkering with carb and prop pitch to get it running right. Then I can go ahead and start in on the break in procedure. I know it is not needed, but I figured it would be good for me to learn all the sounds and instrument readings. Kind of a get to know you shake down flight, while still on the ground. I will let you know how that all goes. Dave, I once knew a guy who was missing his index finger down to the first knuckle on both hands. He was in his shop and decided to cut a piece of wire. He wrapped the wire around both index fingers and flipped on the table saw to cut the wire. The wire remained intact but both finger tips departed thanks to his makeshift wire guillotine.
