I just got on to read some of the posts which I usually enjoy and are very informative. As I was reading this one I realized I had seen this posted several months ago. Then I realized that this is the airplane I just bought a few weeks ago. As Mr. Kirby said it is very well-built but just needs some good loving care and elbow grease. And I do plan on a total restoration.I wish I could meet the original builder just to visit with them. And as he said the paint job is less than nice and probably will be completely redone. If anyone knows about this airplane or who built it I would like to get in contact with them just to have some background on it. And the rotax motor on it. You got a great deal on that plane. Not sure of the history of who built it. Are you thinking of registering it as experimental exhibition? There's a DAR in Clovis that can help and he said he would do it for my friends PPC that most those could never be registered. Worth a call to Donny Lewelin at 575-760-7800. He is a DAR with the function codes to do a lot and you may be able to get it registered without a full tear down and rebuild. Best of luck to you.
