From: "Ducati SS" Because the rib ends are open to the inside of the wing after covering I suspect there is some concern that debris created during fabric riveting or later repair will find there way inside the wing. Any debris would likely, due to flexing and vibration find its way between the structure and fabric. I guess each builder would have to decide which is the bigger risk, moisture or debris. Perhaps covering the ends with something porous such as fine nylon mesh would work. I use high pressure air to blow out pop rivet mandrel ends and drill chips. This usually cleans them up pretty good. I remember the first wings I built I did not do that. Ended up with this debris wondering around loose inside the wing. john h mkIII Rock House, OR -----Original Message----- From: owner-kolb-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-kolb-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Ducati SS Sent: Wednesday, September 09, 2015 3:43 AM Subject: Kolb-List: Re: Caulking Tube ends...? Drilling the holes before covering with the fabric will make this unnecessary Jerry ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message kolb-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Kolb-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/kolb-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/kolb-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
