"i built a nose cone skid and grab bar" The tendency to tip over will go away with longer gear legs. The legs supplied as stock are 24 inches long, if you increase that to 36 inches you will not have to worry about buying more nose cones, and your plane will actually handle and look a lot better. Kolbers: We experimented with longer main gear legs on my original Firestar in 1957, because of the nose over tendency. 1" OD X .120" 4130 heat treated to 48 RC. Like Larry C said, it will reduce the nose over tendency because it places the main gear further forward when in the 3 point position. It also improves take off and landing. I solved the nose over problem by moving the main gear 8" forward on my MKIII. Well....it wasn't quite 1957. Subject: New camera mount
    From: Richard Girard <aslsa.rng@gmail.com>
It's not for a Kolb but for my trike. Because of the changing angle of the wing I wanted adjustment in three dimensions. When I went through my strategic supplies I found two pieces of channel that nested together with just enough room for an AN960-816L washer on each side between them. Thanks to the Yard Store the total cost of the mount was about a buck. When I bolted it to the wing strut I used an eye bolt so I'd have a second safety strap in case the bolt to the camera base and the straps from the camera's strap lugs to the mount both failed.
