(Have about 100 landings on pavement). Probably engine torque but who knows. I want to try aileron trim and wonder if it would be best to put the trim tab up on the right aileron or down on the left aileron; or does it really matter. Any thoughts appreciated. Then I got to thinking about it some more. If you deflect an aileron down with a tab, you create lift to raise the wing but also drag to pull it backward (the origins of adverse yaw) so you'll have to add a little rudder to center the ball or yaw string. If you deflect the opposite side up you lose a little lift and a little drag which should level the wings and create less yaw. Or so it appears to me. Do you have any idea what is causing it. Doubtful it is caused by torque, at least no Kolb I've ever flown has had the tendency. Is it a new problem? Anything changed that might have caused it? I'm sorry I don't remember what you fly. With a Mark III you can use the flaps to trim out an imbalance.\ Good luck and Happy New Year Rick Girard On Sun, Jan 3, 2016 at 11:08 AM, Rex Rodebush wrote: > > I have a slightly heavy right wing. Tires and wheels that will fit a black max, Tracy O'Brien, Hegar Brakes systems and more. http://youtu.be/ysZBXy-pDzI I have them in stock now -------- Kolb Firestar II 503 C-Box / RK400 Soon to have a Rotax 670 DCDI with a C-Box and RK 400 Clutch Challenger II 503 Tall Drive Location : Buffalo South Carolina Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=451695#451695 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_703.jpeg http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_802.jpeg http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_198.jpeg ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 07:44:33 PM PST US Subject: Kolb-List: Re: tires From: "Carolina Flyer" Oh by the way I mount the tires on to the Wheels and they are ready to mount on your plane.they weigh less then factory wheels with the Carlisle turf glides on them. -------- Kolb Firestar II 503 C-Box / RK400 Soon to have a Rotax 670 DCDI with a C-Box and RK 400 Clutch Challenger II 503 Tall Drive Location : Buffalo South Carolina Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=451696#451696 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/image_391.jpeg ________________________________ Message 6 _____________________________________ Time: 07:53:23 PM PST US Subject: Kolb-List: Re: tires From: "Carolina Flyer" Here you can see the weight and that is with the wheel hub on it... If the wings then level up, but the ball is not in the center, then you would have to adjust it out with a trim tab on the rudder. For planning purposes: attach your trim tabs in the most unobtrusive way possible, so that if you end up having to rearrange things, you have not painted yourself into a corner. http://oh2fly.net/oldpoops/pg6.htm -------- Richard Pike Kolb MKIII N420P (420ldPoops) Kingsport, TN 3TN0 Would you consider yourself to be a good person? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWcDXT6pH7A Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=451700#451700 ________________________________ Message 8 _____________________________________ Time: 10:55:29 PM PST US Subject: Kolb-List: Re: tires From: "Carolina Flyer" Somebody on the list sent me a PM wanting to know approximate cost and what would they have to do to install these on a Mark III. There's different options for example of whether or not you want hand control stick master cylinder, or do you want differential Heel and Toe Brakes. Also single or dual puck calipers... Sometimes you can use master cylinders from other companies. Here is a picture of a set up that I sold last month and the customer already had his master cylinders.. Several months ago a Canadian gentleman put some dual puck brakes on a Kitfox and he says it will stop on a dime.
