Now it's clear... I did not realize the new owner had wrecked it. The youtube videos I saw did not show anything that frightened me... I'm an old washed up 15 meter glider racer myself :) Bill Berle www.ezflaphandle.com - safety & performance upgrade for light aircraft www.grantstar.net - winning proposals for non-profit and for-profit entities -------------------------------------------- On Tue, 5/3/16, Herb <Herbgh@nctc.com> wrote: Subject: Kolb-List: ground aerobatics... For years I had individual hand brakes mounted on the stick, and I loved it. To me it was very easy to use either or both at the same time. It all depends on how close together they are. I built my own, so the handles were where I wanted them. It did not take long for me to get tired of getting out of the plane to pick up the boom tube to turn the plane around. Without individual brakes it takes a 20 acre field to turn around. Now I have hydraulic heel brakes and I have to concentrate to make sure that my heels are not activating the brakes when I take off. Give yourself a chance to get used to the hand brakes before you change them. Do be sure to get a break away tail wheel, and do the reinforcing of the tail post.
