I am curious what different exhausts you are using on your 912 powered planes other
than the Titan. I find the Titan to be too loud even with my Zulu headset.
I can more than afford to lose a few horse power to quiet things down.

Mine is a 447 with electronic single ignition.
Amzoil Super Saber Professional 100:1 mix ratio. Recommended by the shop
foreman at LEAF in Wisconsin.
Phil Lockwood (Lockwood Aviation) recommends Pennzoil 2 stroke air cooled
oil. Go figure.
They both recommend using Stabil fuel stabilizer to help keep the gas fresh
longer. I use this too.
Only 20 hours on mine so far. All OK. Carbon buildup is minimal. Just
replaced the plugs coming out of storage for the winter. Looked good but why
put them in for a lousy 5 hours before the recommended replacement?
I would look into upgrading the ignition system if at all possible.
Your engine must have some years on it. Hope it was stored properly.

My single carb, point ignition 447 burned 3.75 gph cruising at 5800 rpm
on cross country flights, not buzzing around the local area.

Subject: | Use iridium spark plugs was what oil?? |
I switched to iridium spark plugs in my Rotax 447 and noticed a significant
difference in a smoother running engine with less mis-fires.
The powered paraglider guys were saying that they have virtually eliminated
spark plug fowling by switching to iridium plugs.
One thing on oil that is important if you buy Pennzoil is make sure you
get 2 stroke AIR COOLED engine oil and not 2 stroke oil for your outboard
motor. Water cooled outboards run cooler than air cooled engines.

In my 447 Firefly single carb points, I just did about 60 miles at about that RPM.
Filled up in Menomonie.

Started using Phillips Injex for 2-stroke engines back in 1983, used it ever since.
Got 700+ hours out of a Rotax 277, still running good when I sold it, no
problems, on it's 2nd piston and original crank. Used it in several 503's, 532's,
582's and still using it. Burns cleaner than Pennzoil. Tried Pennzoil one
summer, covered the tail with oily soot. Plugs looked the same, cylinder walls
looked the same, just made the airplane nasty. Phillips doesn't do that.
Have had a few times when I had to clean the carbon off some rings, but never had
a seizure or a bearing failure. Underside of the cylinder head is always clean,
exhaust ports don't clog up. Run my engines around 1100 degrees EGT or as
close to it as possible.
Worth what ya paid for it.

That is about what I am seeing with Serenity. Wind direction usually
determines where I go. I fly generally into the wind for =C2=BD hour,
then turn and start heading back, meander around some to time my landing
at about an hour on the tach give or take 10 minutes. Longest flight was
1.3 hours and burned 4.0 gallons.
447 electronic ignition
Single carb
3 blade 60=9D Warp Drive set to about 7.5=C2=B0 pitch
Cruise 5800 to 5900 but sometimes drop back to 5600 if the wind is to my
back and the air is =9Cright=9D. Produces 63 to 65 MPH on
the ASI.
Fat tires and fat pilot make for a (ahem) heavy bird. ;)
