In my Mk 33 I was caught out on my first take off with a lumpy passenger. O nly just made it out over the hedge. Next time I just put in a bit of extra up trim. Problem solved. No mod needed. I have an early Xtra in which a few months after I bought the kit the stabilizers were enlarged. Some time later they went back to the "standard size". I asked Norm at t he time if I should change them back and he said don't bother. I have done a full stall landing with a 220# passenger. I weigh around 185#. No probl ems on the flair. Don't know if the larger stab. had any effect or not. > BTW. Hi ,there Bill...thankz Any hand drawing handwriting with dimensions you can take from the whole thing would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Trying to do a 3D drawing and tests on SolidWorks ... PS: No need to be highly accurate , close enough would be enough. THANKZ Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=456935#456935

A couple of days ago we had an evening "Desert" storm blow through. I sit outside as long as I can to watch for fires. Unfortunately we had a strike and soon after a plume of smoke. Unfortunately it racked up about 2300 acres of Desert before it could be put out. This morning was the first time that I could fly it to access the damage. I flew for 42 minutes at 1500 feet agl. It was smooth as velvet, and by using my HACMAN system leaned out the engine to 1300 EGT's, only burning 1.5 gallons of fuel with the HKS. All at speeds of 70 MPH. Only thing I'd add to what others said is if you go with the 503 use a C or E gearbox with the 3.47 to 1 ratio and the appropriate Warp Drive prop. Any information on where to strengthen any of the areas on the Kolb such as the landing gear sockets, landing gear, rudder post, tail wheel etc. etc would be appreciated. > Mike MacPherson > Pequea PA. > > > > > Read this topic online here: > > http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=456879#456879 > > > > > > > > > >
