Subject: Coming Soon - The List of Contributors - Please Make A Contribution
Today! Each year at the end of the List Fund Raiser, I post a message acknowledging everyone that so generously made a Contribution to support the Lists. Its my way of publicly thanking everyone that took a minute to show their appreciation for the Lists. Please take a moment and assure that your name is on that List of Contributors (LOC)! As a number of members have pointed out over the years, the List seems at least as valuable a building / entertainment tool as your typical magazine subscription! Assure that your name is on this year's LOC! Show others that you appreciate the Lists. Making a Contribution to support the Lists is fast and easy using your Credit card or Paypal on the Secure Web Site: http://www.matronics.com/contribution or by dropping a personal check in the mail to: Matt Dralle / Matronics 581 Jeannie Way Livermore CA 94550 I would like to thank everyone that has so generously made a Contribution thus far in this year's List Fund Raiser! Remember that its YOUR support that keeps these Lists going and improving! Don't forget to include a little comment about how the Lists have helped you! Best regards, Matt Dralle Matronics Email List Administrator

Bill, Boyd... Still no replies, and no email distribution.. but I will wait a while longer. Say, if you two guys would do me a favor? I hide my email for a reason, but then.. if my text is quoted, it displays my address. I can't delete your messages, but if you would, please delete or edit. I may simply revert to being a guest.. I sure don't see a benefit of being a official member of the list. Thanks guys! Jerry Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=493085#493085

Hello to all.. This may be redundant.. I've never had much luck with search engines on the forums. I need to get to work on this MKII.. and I've heard lots about offset fins, trim tabs, and slow flutter issues. Uh.. ANY indication to flutter, IMHO needs revision. I'm considering a new tail group, with built in trim tabs, (using a servo drive for each), and aerodynamic and physical balance as well. I was never fond of the over-simplified outlines.. because I'm sure they were intended as simple. But there isn't much rocket science to building better ones, with balance.. that are much less prone to flag-waving and/or departure from the aircraft. And I know there are many opinions.. but curious about what others might have to say.. or like the photo link to a balanced rudder (which looked rather out of place.. ie long tube forward, with steep pipe to balance it).. but if it worked, that is what is hugely important. One thought on this possible revision, is a resettable leading edge offset for either the fin or the horizontal stab.. or even using them as the primary "trim" function. (aka J-3 Cub trim). Hope all is well with everyone, Jerry And if you want to quote anything, just copy and paste a section.. I really want to avoid my email being posted here, in each quote. Prob around '88 - '90 I flew with a small group of ULers. I looked at the EAA mag advertisement, which said "Death benefit" in U/L, etc. When I asked about the fine print (with a family myself).. the policy stated, it had to be a LEGALLY REGISTERED Ultra-light aircraft. Well, back then, (and I think even today) there IS NO LEGALLY registered part 103 U/L aircraft. It's a sport recreational vehicle, and NOT registered, at all! I called EAA.. They shrugged, no clue. I got a number for the ins co.. they appeared clueless to even the definition of a PART 103 air recreation vehicle. Then I went to the Indiana insurance commission.. and it got interesting. Apparently EAA had NOT explained what a U/L was, maybe putting it off as a (light weight) ultra light experimental. The underwriter, had NO idea, what it was.. and worse "NO NUMBERS" by which to establish rates of death, or re-numeration. Because NO ONE, kept that data. Long story shorter.. the then current ins co was dropped, (by which party I'm not sure) and the rewrite didn't include U/Ls. And worse? I would expect if you found a policy which allowed coverage in a Part 103.. that it would need to be a legal one! And how many of those exist?? There might be a lot of single-seaters, but few are Part 103 legal. And the ins co will always find a way out of payment, if possible. It was a real eye-opener.. and it became clear. What the EAA ad had stated, was not valid, nor the coverage. As if they had WRITTEN IN (or allowed by non-disclosure), what exactly was being insured, and the loop hole, (for the sake of a good rate??). They pleaded ignorance. Really. And no one else had asked the detailed questions?? Not good! Jerry Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=493087#493087

Richard Pike did some work along those lines. If he doesn't see this, get ahold of him on Facebook. Bill Sullivan Hello to all.. This may be redundant..
