Subject: | Re: Mark III Taxi Crosswind Limit |
Paul
I rigged my tail wheel springs so that they were snug so that I had good
steering control but not compressing the springs any. There is enough
spring travel in the compression springs to absorb any shock but have
limited travel enough so that in a heavy cross wind I can compress the
springs to the limit and hold the tail wheel where I want to go against a
cross wind. My stock tail tail wheel has never unlocked before full travel
so I haven't modified my tail wheel. In fact when I first put the
compression springs on I couldn't get the tail wheel to unlock. I had to
then modify the tail wheel control arm. I drilled the control arm with new
holes inboard of stock holes so that I could get the tail wheel to full
lock where it would unlock for full swivel. I hope this is clear.
As always worth what you paid for it.

Can a left side throttle be added to a Mark 2, there does not seem to be
enough room with the enclosed cockpit?
