Ducati SS brings up a good point, and it's not just the low pressure - every time
the prop passes the aft end of the fuselage you are going to get a pressure
pulse. Have no guess as to what that may or may not do.

I was told and have followed the practice on several aircraft, to run the open
end of the vent line to a point that is lower than the bottom of the tank(s).
I run mine down along side the tanks to a point below the pan that the tanks
sit on. The theory being that if you are unfortunate enough to wind up inverted
on the ground, the fuel will not run out through the vent line.
As Beauford would say... worth what you paid for it....
