Good advice, Charlie! Thanks and stay safe! Elevated blood pressure? *AGE?* (I'm 69.) > > If you haven't had a heart-to-heart conversation with your personal doc specifically about Covid and your risks, it really would be a good idea. I have several friends who are working with Covid patients all the time, and things can be *much* worse than you might think, watching some news sources. (BTW, social media isn't a news source.) We've been hearing for months about things just now showing up in the news, like young, healthy people getting it, recovering, and a couple of weeks later having a stroke or heart attack & dying. Autopsies of Covid victims finding blood clots scattered through every organ. Being unable to intubate people because their weight prevented the ventilator from being able to inflate their lungs. > > And don't forget that if you're exposed, you can transmit it to someone else who may be 'compromised', even if you never have symptoms yourself. > > I understand wanting to get out & do stuff; my wife is compromised by leukemia & we're both in the age group most at risk, and we have done nothing but doc visits and (when possible) parking lot food pickups since March. We're both going stir crazy. They've been going to flyins. But no one's been able to repeal disease transmission, any more than the law of gravity. That 22% number is based on reported deaths, and I know for a fact that my home state is under-reporting cases and deaths, and multiple other states have said publicly that they will no longer report case and death numbers. > > I know this has been very 'preachie', I'm just another faceless page on social media, but you do have actual science-based advice available from your doc. Thanks to the folks who responded, just a few observations. I was asking if there was any interest - no mention of a date or venue was given. My original post was put out to see if there are any other Kolb flyers that are in and around the NC area that may be interested in a flyin. While I understand that we are in a pandemic and have absolute empathy for the folks struggling with life in one form or another, my question still stands. I bought a kolb about a year ago and love flying it, I was hoping to connect with others in the area. Thank you Peter -------- Peter Raleigh, NC Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=497997#497997
