Hi All, I was checking out Kolb Aircrafts Website yesterday. I saw there's an air worthiness directive especially for the Firestar for the bolts that the Overhead Aileron Control System rides on along the root tube. It says these 2 bolts could break if stressed. They now make a gusset to hold the threaded end of the bolt from the root tube. Has anyone done this modification ? From: "wakataka" I learned of this AD last year and installed the brackets. It's a fairly easy job. I had to adjust the location of my BRS parachute a little because the new brackets interfered with the clamps that held the parachute onto the root tube, but the parachute still fit in the same general position in front of the engine. -------- There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact.
