Anticipating that a Kolb Firestar or Mark 3 would be stored wings-folded into a shared hangar, I'd like to ask the group what the maximum wind speed is that would allow a one-person folding or unfolding of the wings for storage or flight, respectively. -------- Paul Hutson Middleton, WI Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=499335#499335

Since no one else has yet spoken up .. I owned a MkIII for 10+ years and 90% of the time I did the folding by myself. I created a couple of padded jigs that would support the wings while I did the honors, and I likely didn't try anything with wings > 7-8 mph. Many times I'd tie it down then come back later when the wind died down. And I was lucky since my grass taxiway was sheltered between houses and hangars close by. Even with help, a windy day is challenging. -- Robert On Tue, Nov 10, 2020, 9:51 PM prhutson <prhutsonwi@gmail.com> wrote: > > Anticipating that a Kolb Firestar or Mark 3 would be stored wings-folded > into a shared hangar, I'd like to ask the group what the maximum wind speed > is that would allow a one-person folding or unfolding of the wings for > storage or flight, respectively. > > -------- > Paul Hutson > Middleton, WI > > > Read this topic online here: > > http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=499335#499335 > >
